Hague Soprano wins London Handel Competition 

The Hague based Canadian soprano Stefanie True has won first prize in the 2011 Handel Singing Competition. The finals took place on April 7th at St George's, Hannover Square in London. 

The Hague's Baroque Orchestra, The New Dutch Academy (NDA), would like to wholeheartedly congratulate Stefanie on being awarded this prestigious prize. "It is a wonderful recognition of her talent, dedication and wonderful musicianship" says the NDA's conductor and artistic director Simon Murphy. 

Upcoming performances - Stefanie True and the NDA  

In season 2011-2012, audiences in The Netherlands can hear Stefanie in concert with The New Dutch Academy.

Newly rediscovered symphonies from the Court of Orange live in concert! 

Under the baton of its conductor Simon Murphy, The Hague's Baroque Orchestra, The New Dutch Academy (NDA), will perform music from the highly successful, recent CD release "Zappa Symphonies" live in concert on Thursday 24 March 2011 in The Hague's Philipszaal, Spuiplein.

Swedish Royal Medal Winner, Soprano Susanne Rydén, to appear with NDA

Recent recipient of Sweden's Royal Arts Award – The Litteris and Artibus Medal – Soprano Susanne Rydén will appear in an exclusive concert in the Netherlands in March 2011 with conductor Simon Murphy and The Hague's Baroque Orchestra, The New Dutch Academy (NDA), in a very special programme of Arias and Overtures by Mozart, Paisiello and Rossini.

Exploring Bach's Orchestra - Turn it Up! Bach and the Bass 

Bach is the undisputed master of the swinging Baroque bass line! From the classic Air on the G String onwards, Bach's groove, distinctive harmonic progressions and rhythmic drive have inspired generations of musicians from his contemporaries through to Procol Harum and Jaques Loussier. As the Swingle Singers themselves said, Bach is the original swinger.  

The Hague’s Baroque Orchestra “The New Dutch Academy” (NDA) celebrate Bach and the Bass in the second instalment of the orchestra's "Bach Orchestral Series". Commencing at 14:30 on Saturday 8 January 2011 in The Hague’s Kloosterkerk, the concert's soloist is Spanish Baroque Bassist Vega Montero.
